Tackling Homelessness in Scotland
Shaf Rasul has played an active role in supporting Social Bite’s mission to end homelessness in Scotland. Through high-profile fundraising events such as the CEO Sleepout in Edinburgh’s Charlotte Square, the British Business Awards, and hands-on volunteering, Shaf has used his influence as a leading Scottish business figure to raise awareness and vital funds. His long-term commitment to Social Bite’s homelessness initiatives reflects his belief in using business leadership to drive social impact and lasting change across communities in Scotland.

CEO Sleepout Participation
In December 2016, Shaf took part in Social Bite’s CEO Sleepout at Charlotte Square in Edinburgh. The event challenged business leaders to spend a night outdoors in the bitter winter cold, raising both awareness and vital funds to combat homelessness. Shaf described the experience as eye-opening, offering a powerful insight into the harsh realities faced by homeless individuals, particularly during the cold winter months.
Through his participation in the CEO Sleepout, Shaf raised an impressive £15,731 for Social Bite, exceeding his original fundraising target. The funds directly supported Social Bite’s initiatives focused on breaking the cycle of homelessness, further demonstrating Shaf’s commitment to using his platform to drive positive social change.
Charity Auction Contribution
In 2019, Shaf was “auctioned off” during a Social Bite fundraising event to support charitable initiatives. The Window Supply Company placed the winning bid of £6,500, securing a full day of Shaf’s time. Throughout the day, Shaf offered strategic business advice and even rolled up his sleeves to take part in hands-on activities at their factory. His involvement showcased not only his expertise in business growth but also his genuine commitment to supporting charity initiatives in meaningful and practical ways.
UK Business Awards Judging Panel
In April 2025, Shaf proudly served as a judge at the inaugural British Business Awards, organised by Social Bite in partnership with NatWest Group. The event successfully raised an outstanding £1.2 million to fund homelessness initiatives across the UK. Shaf’s participation in the British Business Awards highlights his strong commitment to using business leadership to support social causes and create lasting community impact.
